Affiliate disclosure
Why links go through /r/[slug]
Many outbound tool links on this site pass through our hop at /r/[slug]. That lets us count which recommendations actually help readers find software, swap affiliate programs when vendors change terms, and keep the public URLs stable even if a network changes behind the scenes.
What happens when you click
When you click a tracked link and sign up for a paid product, we may receive a commission. That does not change the price you pay. Occasionally a vendor offers a perk for using a partner link—like an extended trial—and we will only mention that perk when we can verify it is live for our readers.
Editorial coverage without a payout
We also cover tools that do not currently pay us because readers expect them on a serious SMB site. Examples we treat as editorial-only today include ChatGPT, Claude, Zapier, Asana, Trello, Toast, and Clio. Those pages are labeled so you know when there is no affiliate relationship.
How we think about recommendations
Our recommendations are based on what we would tell a friend running a similar business. If a lower-commission product is clearly the better fit than a higher-commission one, we say so. Commissions help keep the lights on; they do not override common sense.
FTC statement
Smarter Work HQ is a participant in various affiliate programs designed to provide a means for sites to earn commissions by linking to vendor products. We disclose that relationship here and on our About page so you can make informed choices.
